Removal of a single storey extension and replaced by a two-storey extension with associated internal work on this very individual Grade 2 listed Wolds village property.
Built in 1879 by the Sykes family of the Sledmere Estate, this Grade 2 listed property required improvement to an existing single storey extension layout.
One of the main aims for this building was to create two new shower rooms, a utility room and separate W.C. all of which fitted with the latest electric underfloor heating technology.
Bear Builders successfully retained the feature gable from the original house in the newly constructed extension. Reusing the original Rosemary Tile shingles, stone lintels and sills the result was very pleasing and retained the character of the property.
A number of the Rosemary Tiles needed to be replaced due to their poor condition and Bear Builders were able to source and adapt replacements so that the match was perfect. This project was completed to budget.
Project value under £50k.
