Our pricing is clear and you can be confident that there will be no unwelcome surprises. We will start your project when we say we will start. Each individual project is overseen by one of our senior partners who are also owners of our business. We work to The Federation of Master Builders code of practice.

Yes. We are confident that our workmanship is of the highest standard so we provide our own free guarantee against our workmanship. Additionally, The Federation of Master Builders offer Build Assure warranties which will provide extra peace of mind for your project. At the end of each project we will work with you to look for and identify any ‘snags’ which may occur and we will put these right immediately.

The work that Bear Builders carries out is always done in line with current planning laws and building regulations. We have very positive relationships with both local authority and independent Building Control Officers as well as the local Planning and Conservation Officers. One thing that sets Bear Builders apart from some other builders is that we are passionate about building conservation and we buy into the need to work within the guidelines which are designed to preserve safety, the environment and the amenity that our buildings provide.

Bear Builders undertake all tasks large and small. We are big enough to handle capital projects up to £1.5m and personal enough to tackle the smallest of jobs like a leaking roof to fitting a new window

Yes. We show most prospective customers examples of our previous work. During the time frame of a project being completed, we build excellent relationships with our customers. They are usually delighted to show you the projects/work we have completed for them.

Each of our projects has a dedicated manager to take care of each phase and to answer any queries you may have. Bjorn Risi Jnr, Lawrence Risi and Gareth Aitcheson are individually responsible for managing their teams and contractors to complete your project.

Payment is absolutely not required upfront. A detailed contract will be drawn up which will state set milestones customised to your project/works when interim payments will be required. The final payment will be required only once all works are completed. Our most common payment terms are between 3 and 4 intervals. An initial payment may be required just before commencement of the work, this is often to go towards non-returnable items such as bespoke windows or staircases

Yes. We can offer advice on feasibility and budgeting aspects of the project. We can also recommend local architects that we have working relationships with. Once you have decided upon a design.

Absolutely. All photographs document projects our company have completed.

No. If you own the property, we are happy to offer free quotation. Otherwise, it is costed at a one off fee of £40.00 per property. This is because the chances of the works actually happening are slim due to the purchasing process, with many deals falling through. As you can probably appreciate, doing estimates for many properties that are not owned is very time consuming.

This is usually 3 months. If you require a longer price guarantee, please speak to us.

The best way to judge our work is to see it for yourselves and to hear what our customers say about us. During your free consultation, you will always be offered the opportunity to visit examples of our work and speak to our customers.

All of our contracted heating engineers and plumbers are Gas Safe registered

When we meet you to discuss your requirements at the very start of our relationship, we will give you an idea of our work schedule timeframes. We will firm our start date up when we provide you with your Bear Builders quote.
